Art: The 7th graders painted beautiful color wheels using only the primary colors (red, blue, and yellow). They chose a shape to duplicate and glue showing how colors blend into one another. Great work 7th graders!
Our First Field Trip: I always enjoy the chance to take my students out on field trips; they are wonderful refections of Zion. This year we added a stop at Fitz's Bottling before heading to the Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.
Learned the history behind the Fitz's company and University City. Enjoyed watching the making and bottling of orange soda.
Orange ingrédients, plus cane sugar an carbonated water, a little spinning...
...a label on each bottling...
...and lastly they are packaged into boxes.
All made with impressive man-run vintage bottling equipment!
Bottomless mugs of rootbeet?!?! I think the students enjoyed this part of the field trip. We also enjoyed a Fitz's served lunch.
Next stop, Concordia Seminary. Although it rained the entire time, students were still in awe of the architecture, stained-glass windows, sanctuary, and bell tower.
Should we get one of these for our classroom? Students seem to think they would learn better if they got to sit in comfy chairs :)
Here's a picture from last years trip of the Luther Bell Tower; we all made it to the top!
Beautiful stained glass in the sanctuary of St. Timothy and Titus, ask your child about all of the images seem in the window.
Blessings on your week to come,
