Thrive Week:
The 7th graders were great participants during the Thrive presentations given by Mr. Max and Miss Lydia this week.  They laughed, learned, and showed great maturity while discussing life goal setting, healthy choice making, and how to have healthy relationships.

Week 27-28

Successful Grandparents Day
Last Friday was an AWESOME day to be at Zion celebrating Grandparents Day!  The 7th graders enjoyed playing in the band, showing grandparents around the Jr. High building, and spending some time together in the classroom.  The 7th graders also led a wonderful chapel service based on the children's book "How do I love you?"  I am so proud of these students for learning their parts, speaking so well, and sharing God's love with a full house of guests.

Thrive in 7th Grade
The 7th graders are enjoying their time with Max, their Thrive presenter, learning more about making wise choices in their lives.  I hope these conversations make their way into your homes.  This program is excellent!

Week 26

7th Grade Auction Items 2015:
  • Check out one of our awesome auction items! Thank you Mrs. Horton and Mrs. Wadley for working on this framed picture. Students also signed the back.
  • Mrs. Murray and I will submit a Shutterfly prayer/devotion book as a second class auction item. Ask your child to read what they will submit to the book!  Maybe you will be interested in bidding :)  Please consider supporting Zion through this exciting event March 27.

What's Happening in 7th Grade?
  • Students have been preparing for the 7th grade Missouri Constitution Test through "Constitution Fridays" during their History class time.  The test is scheduled for this coming Friday, March 6th.  Much studying is needed in order to learn this information.  Admittedly, this is not the most exciting or interesting topic for most students (or teachers).  I have given student many resources to utilize for studying (shared google presentation, constitution book, study guide questions, flashcards, in class review stations, etc.).  Please encourage your children to be preparing every day this week, maybe even sit and study with them!
  • Students will be finishing the classic novel "Where the Red Fern Grows" this week.  Many have enjoyed reading about Billy's coon-hunting adventured with his two dogs, some have even shed a few tears!  This novel has great lessons of loyalty and true friendship as well as religious undertones of God's plan for his children and the power of prayer.  We will enjoy watching the movie in class to compare with the novel.
