Weeks 9 through 11

So sorry I have missed posting the last few weeks.  We've been very busy here at Zion; check out what's been going on!

The 7th grade ended the first quarter off strong and are excited to have 1/4 of the year under their belts.  It was wonderful to meet with you (parents), Zion is very blessed to have such supportive and loving families.  Thank you for all that you do to support your child and teachers!

Congratulation goes out to our very own Chloe for taking 1st place in the Cross Country State Meet running a two mile race in 14:08!  We are so proud of you Chloe, what an excellent achievement!  Here's what she had to say about this moment: "I was in fifth place for the whole first mile, but I was able to pass them all in mile two.  I am really happy because last year I took third."

Last week we participated in a "Groundbreaking Ceremony" -- God is doing wonderful things here at Zion.  We are looking forward to the expansion!  Check out Zion's Facebook page for more pictures and information: https://www.facebook.com/ZionStCharles

In World History we wrapped up our first unit, "Medieval Europe," and have moved to the Arabian Peninsula to learn about the Middle East, Muhammad, and the religion of Islam.  I am looking forward to the discussions we will have during class comparing Christianity to other world religions.

Students finished some awesome art projects the past few weeks.  I love decorating our classroom and the hallways in our Jr. High with student art work.  Here are some pictures; aren't they great?
