Our Week in 7th Grade

Science
We are learning about the human body. Instead of studying the body systems, we are learning about nutrition and how to take care of our bodies by eating the right food and controlling the amount we consume.
World History/Mo constitution
We are still learning about West Africa. and it’s culture: the music they play, the type of stories they tell, their visual arts, and the type of clothes they wear.
Our MO Constitution test is coming up Wednesday, March 6...time to study :)
Art
Our 3D tornado projects turned out GREAT!

Where the Red Fern Grows

I had a great time teaching our novel unit -- "Where the Red Fern Grows"
Students enjoyed reading this classic about a boy and his coon hounds.  They even showed some emotion :)  Here are some of the illustrations students created for this book.
"Billy" by Scott
 "The Hunt" by Corey
 "The Winnings" by Braeden
"The Blizzard" by Lauren

We also had some fun with a "Whooping Contest."  When hunters want to encourage their hounds they yell out with a "Whhooopp Whhooopp!"  Here are some clips of our contest:
