Week 5

Academics:  Students enjoyed preforming their skits based on the Feudal system in Europe during the middle ages.  I hope to upload all of the skits soon to our blog!

Students studies figurative language all week; check out the rap video on my last post, love creative means of learning :)  They will be applying all of this knowledge into a creative writing descriptive essay these next two weeks, lets get ready to write!

Field Trip Anyone?:  This coming Friday the 20th the 7th graders will be going on their first field trip to Fitz's Bottling Co. and St. Louis Concordia Seminary.  Permission forms are due Monday, ask your child for the information sheets.  We do need drivers!

Walk-a-thon: Our annual walk-a-thon is scheduled for the afternoon of Friday the 27th.  Students have received a pledge form with the challenge of gathering as many pledges as they can before Sept. 27.  The walk-a-thon will be a fun day for us but the money we raise will impact more people than we can imagine!  Check our who we are supporting through this fundraiser: http://www.thesparrowsneststl.org/

Red Ribbon Week Training:  9 Jr. High student council students attended a training day this Tuesday for the upcoming Red Ribbon Week (last week of October).  They learned all about the dangers of drugs and alcohol and will be able to lead our school in building our awareness and saying NO! to drugs and alcohol.

Goodbye Party for Brynne: Brynna's family is moving to Bahrain for the next two years, wow, what a life changer.  We will pray for her and her family, knowing God has great plans for their family.  Monday we had a great time celebrating one last time with Brynna!

Fun at Recess:  We love hanging around with our friends!
Camp Wartburg High Ropes Trip:  22 Jr. High students traveled to Camp Wartburg Saturday morning for a day of facing challenges, service, and fun!  If you weren't able to join us this year, no worries, this event happens every year!  Enjoy the pictures :)
