Week 4

Is it really week 4 already?  A great week after a long weekend, I hope everyone had a chance to relax while celebrating Labor Day.  We are getting the hang of our 7th grade routine, a few "oops" moments, but those sometimes teach us the best lessons.

Academics:  Already have a few tests under our belts (History, Science, Literature, Memory, Spelling, etc.).  We continue to practice good studying habits both here and school and at home.  We dove into Feudalism in World History this week; some students were very happy when they became a monarch, lord, lady, or knight, others were not as excited to learn they had to farm food for everyone as a peasant!!  Ask your child what social role they were during "Feudal M&Ms."

STUCO:  Congratulations to Justin D. on being elected Vice President and Lukas P. on being elected class representative!!  We are excited for everything Student Council will do this year.

Walk-a-thon Kick-off: The Jr. High gathered this morning to get ready for our annual walk-a-thon.  This years event will take place on September 27th and we are raising money to support the completion of The Sparrows Nest Maternity Home.  We are all blessed in so many ways we hope to reach out and spread God's love and blessings to those less fortunate.  Students have received a pledge form with the challenge of fathering as many pledges as they can before Sept. 27.  The walk-a-thon will be a fun day for us but the money we raise will impact more people than we can imagine!

Church schedule: Worship services are back to regular times here at Zion. Saturday: 5:00, Sunday 8, 9:30, and 11. Try to make worship a priority in your life and your child will follow suit.

Art: Here are some action shots from art class this week, we made the whole color wheel using only the three primary colors -- looks great guys!!  Next week we'll post the finished projects.

In Christ's Love,
