Week 2 - Aug. 22-26

The 7th graders (and teachers) made it through the first full week of school, yay!!  Students have jumped into their school work with two feet.  They seem to be getting comfortable with their schedule and remembering to bring their materials to each class.
Please continue to log into your Sycamore Education account to check the school news, calendar, and grades.

Back to School Night:
It was great to talk with many of you this past Tuesday, thank you for making the time to be there.  I totally understand busy schedules and missed those that were unable to make it (all information was sent home Wednesday with your child).  Anyone can use the link below to access the Prezi (presentation) shown that night.

STUCO:
Student Council elections will be Thursday (officers) & Friday (class representatives) this coming week.  Campaign posters are looking very persuasive!!

Camp Wartburg/High-Ropes Course:
Zion S.T.U.C.O (Student Council) is sponsoring a day of FUN and SERVICE at Camp Wartburg in Waterloo, Illinois, on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 9am to 4pm (leave Zion at 8am and arrive back to Zion at 5pm).  We will be participating in the High Ropes Course (possibly the Rock Climbing Wall and Repelling Tower).  We will also participate in a service project to help out Camp Wartburg and thank them for letting us participate in their camp activities.  The cost for this event is $25/student.  In order to reserve a spot for yourself you will need the following turned in to Mrs. Cluck by September 16.

  1. Permission slip signed by your parent/legal guardian
  2. Camp Wartburg medical statement form signed by a parent/legal guardian.
  3. $25 cash or check made out to Zion Lutheran School
Sunday Morning Jr. High Bible Study:
Looking for a little CHAOS in your life? Wanna shake your Sundays up a bit? Junior High Students are invited to join us for a little (or a lot of) CHAOS on Sunday Mornings during the Bible Study hour.  CHAOS will meet in Mr Braddy's room in the junior high building and will be led by the Demien family.  We will be exploring our Bibles and how to use them via various games and challenges.  We will find out what's in Luther's Catechism, watch some video clips, enjoy some Christian music and of course, snack!  If you are in 6th, 7th or 8th grade and want to add a little CHAOS to your Sunday mornings, join us this Sunday @ 9:30.
