Reflecting on this week, chapel at the end of Grandparents' Day is the only thing that comes to mind. I know I taught lessons, I know my students took tests, I know I corrected misbehavior and probably laughed a time or two, but at this moment I am overtaken with pride. The 7th grade class led am amazing chapel service to close Grandparents' Day which spoke of Jesus power living in us. Each student took the lines I gave them and made it their own, sending an even stronger message than I could write. On top of an awesome message they preformed a song in sign language "Same Power" by Jeremy Camp which brought another depth to their message. I am beaming with pride; these middle school students, teenagers, YOUR children shared the gospel to a crowd overflowing the sanctuary. What amazing young-adult Christians! I can't complete this reflection without sending a huge thank you to Mrs. Murray (6th grade Mrs. Murray's mother-in-law). Mrs. Murray come to our classroom months ago and taught the class the sign language for this song. She has a passion for deaf ministry and shared her time and talents with our class, thank you! This project would not have been what it was without you!
Thank you Grandparents and special friends for spending time with the jr. high teachers and students Friday. I wish I had more time to mingle and talk with each family. Those I did get the chance to talk with, it was a JOY!
ACHIEVEMENT TESTING...this week :)
- Achievement tests will take place March 14-18
- Here is a link to some Testing tips for both students & parents...some don't apply, but many are very valuable!
- Making sure your child is in school this week is important along with guiding their sleeping and eating habits. Encourage a decent bedtime and breakfast in the morning.
THRIVE
- A Thrive representative will be in the 7th grade 4/4-8 leading lessons on the following:
- Goals, Risky Behaviors/Consequences
- Male & Female Anatomy/Puberty
- STDs (very basic introduction, presented in a safe environment)
- Media, Peer Influence, Setting Boundaries
- I have seen this program for two years now and each year I am impressed more.
