Jefferson City 2013

I'm pleased to report this was my 4th successful 7th grade Jefferson City trip!  We added a few destinations to our schedule and based on what I hear from the students I should keep the new additions :) God gave us a beautiful day, the tour guides were incredible, and the students were happy and wonderful representatives of Zion.  I hope you enjoy the following pictures from our trip. -Mrs. Cluck

 MO State Penitentiary

Sonny Liston's cell: Sony learned to box while serving time as a teen.

We learned James Earl Ray (Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassin) served time at this prison and escaped (via a bread truck) just prior to killing Martin Luther King Jr!!

The beautiful Governor's Mansion
Morning snack...yummmm

 The Capitol Building
The House Lounge Mural by Thomas Hart Benton

Magical Emmett Kelly bust...can you see his makeup?
The House of Representatives
Representative Cornejo introduced us to the House reps who gave us a great round of applause, very cool!

The Senate was already closed for the day, but it looked pretty cool.

Thomas Jefferson, thanks for purchasing the Louisiana territory!

 CENTRAL DAIRY!!! YUMMY!!!

Last stop at the Highway Patrol: We learn about driving safety, especially the danger of texting while driving.
