Week 11-12

Parents as a reminder there will be NO SCHOOL next week on THURSDAY or FRIDAY due to the teachers conference.

MUFFINS for MOMS was another success this year.  I want to thank those who came and I want let all families know that you are invited to chapel every Wednesday at 8:10am.  We would love to have you join us! It is wonderful to see older students and their families participate in these activities together.

RED RIBBON WEEK was a success!  I apologize I took zero pictures of the class during this week, very embarrassed.  Our class came up with a creative door decorating design, check it:

In Art class, the 7th graders have been working with sketching pencils to show value & texture.  Look at these delicious looking apples!

The 7th graders participated in a FLOWER LAB Friday during science class. They had to opportunity to pull apart a fully bloomed flower and a flower that was still closed. Ask them to tell you what the male and female parts of the flower are called. If you show them the picture below, they will be able to show you too! Don't forget TJs Pizza & food orders can be picked up November 18 from 3-5pm in the Commons.  If you are not available on 11/18 please make arrangements for pick up as we do not have freezers available. We ask that you check in upon arriving into the Commons and please check your order for accuracy before leaving.

Wednesday, Nov. 19: THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE
All of Zion's November chapel offerings will go toward purchasing turkeys to provide holiday meals for Seminarian families who will remain in town and not travel to see family.
Wednesday, November 19 is our annual Thanksgiving food drive to complete these meals. While grocery shopping, please consider picking up a few extra items to assist with this project. Suggested items include: stuffing, boxed mashed potatoes, canned cranberry sauce, canned green beans, canned pumpkin, and other non-perishables. Donations of toiletries are also accepted.
We are thankful at this time of year for many gifts we have received. The Lord asks us to consider the needs outside our immediate family to see where we can give. Many Seminary families do not have the means to travel home for this short holiday. It has been a long-standing tradition for Zion’s student council to provide Seminarian families the makings for wonderful Thanksgiving meals.
