Weeks 29-30

Achievement testing went well last week; thank you for rearranging appointments and encouraging good sleeping & eating habits at home!  I look forward to seeing the results of these test at the end of the year.

Jefferson City Class Trip information was sent home Monday 4/7.  Please ask your child to see the information about this exciting field trip scheduled for April 24th!  All forms are due Friday 4/11.

Physical Fitness Testing will take place this Friday 4/11 in the afternoon.  Students need to come prepared with gym clothes and shoes.  Students will also be helping with younger grade testing during the morning.  Due to the long day of physical activity students may wear a spirit wear shirt and appropriate shorts or sweat pants to school.

Matchstick Cross Art Project
The seventh grade students are working on a Lenten matchstick cross art project.  In order to finish the project before Easter and for the safety of all I am assigning the burning of 160 matches to be completed at home.  Yes, that’s right…burning matches IS their assignment.  The students have a sheet with specific materials and directions that NEED to be followed.  Your supervision of this assignment is greatly appreciated.

Burning of matches due 7M: Thursday 4/10 or 7C: Friday 4/11 – completed at home
Gluing of matches – in class & at home
Completed project due 7M: Monday 4/14 or 7C: Tuesday 4/15

Beautiful Mosaic Still Life art work by the 7th graders!  I love filling our hallways with student art projects.

Blessings on your Lenten season,
